what I’ve come to understand and learn about being betrayed it’s not explaining to other people what happened it’s not seeking justice for what happened , that just kept me stuck. It was feeding the wound over and over again of what happened and that kept me in thoughts of resentment.
I learned to move forward and beyond the traumatic experience of betrayal.
In the ‘REVIVE PROGRAM’. I learnt about: ‘Turning the page’. I learnt how to accept what happened and work on changing my mindset about needing justice. All that did was keep me feeling pain and resentment.
What I now know and that I’ve been practicing is ‘Solution Focused’ approach. What I’m learning as I train with SFU
is the concept being the:
‘BEST VERSION’ of oneself. It’s not about fixing the problem, it’s about how an internal state of rediscovering who you are as the best version of yourself, even while the problem is still present. For me it’s very uplifting to recognize my intrinsic strengths, values and capabilities during challenging times. What would that be like for you to recognize that about yourself, and what difference would that make for you if you did. What would be better.
This is when I stopped trying to prove my worth , my pain , my needs for others to understand the injustice of ‘what happened to me’. I learnt about not letting what happened to me , defy me. I learnt, that other people’s opinions and behaviors are about them. I learnt, how to reclaimed myself back by becoming the ‘best version of myself’.
